Morning Circle of Unity Prayer Will Begin at 10:00pm The music and entertainment will begin at 11:30am through 10:00pm. The proceeds and donations go to Sustainability and community projects being headed up by APPLE: (a local non-profit in Nevada City) who is working in alliance with Unity 1 Productions and other organizations.

Featuring quality performances by local and national musicians.

A presentation of guest speakers presenting material focused on community unity projects, non-profit alliance, and future plans for local developments in Nevada City area.

A focus on healing arts.

APPLE-Development of self-reliant and eco-friendly local economy.

This community event benefits the APPLE Center for Sustainable Living, and the numerous community projects APPLE sponsors. APPLE’s mission is to inspire and educate Nevada County residents to transform their life’s and create a resilient future for our community. APPLE is building alliances across community sectors to efficiently provide opportunities for civic , community activism and innovate business solutions, which benefit our local economy , residents and well being , as well as out pristine regional ecosystem. Our current project are:

The Alpha Community Collaborative:

a 28,000 square foot historic landmark in downtown Nevada City , to become a collaborative workspace for local non-profits , a marketplace for local business and a year around gathering place for local residents , much like the farmers market now provides.

Creating Jobs From Junk: APPLE has identified feasible business opportunities to utilize waste materials generated in our community , to produce local artisan products such as soil amendments , landscape materials, salvage , and art. APPLE is working with community stakeholders to develop a pilot program to test these opportunities and Resource Recovery Master Plan to incorporate in long range planning.

Community Project Sponsorship:

APPLE provides a range of opportunities for community members to become leaders by assisting in moving their passion-driven projects from “idea Stage” to “done”. Services include fiscal sponsorship , administrative support, leadership coaching and networking. With this program , projects like community gardens , micro-homes for the homeless, fruit tree gleaners and educational events get implemented effectively and with minimal administrative cost.

The Manna Fest fundraiser helps complete that vision for our community. Festival co-coordinators Victoria Bliss and Mary Padua Fischer started the vision last year and are creating a non-profit production Company called Unity 1 Productions supporting and hosting local events to fund our community non-profits. Most of our funding will come through sponsorships, donations and vendor spaces. Your support in this will be greatly appreciated!

The MannaFest was set up to be support system for the non profits that are being hit by cut backs from this poor economy . The founders Mary Padua Fischer and Victoria Bliss have collaborated with Unity 1 Productions this year to create a a stronger support system for the non profits to survive.We have great line-up of music and vendors for the all day Manna Festival.

We will have several vendors set up and education speakers in between the music to help educate out community on the dire need of supporting local businesses , the need to create a sustainable community and also holding a place of prayer for the day of 9/11.
